ESTHER AND GEORGE:
Two contested stories of Esther Abrams, a jewish girl transported on the First Fleet. She became the partner of George Johnson, a significant figure in early colonial Australia.
I wrote the music to express Esther’s inner world, echo the time period and emotionally underline the docu-drama’s central focus - the contrasting stories of Esther’s life.
