THE TUNNEL (2017)
The Tunnel was an AFTRS Masters student collaboration in 2017. Totally without dialogue, it tells the story of a Russian student living in both a depressed internal and external world. The director’s brief for this cue was to compose a “Russian Pop Song” that the character would likely listen to.
I wanted to capture the character’s internal angst and her desire for any kind of release. The Russian lyrics say something along the lines of: “I’m Russian for life.
I’m Russian till I die”.
